The International Style at the beginning of the 20th century is known for its functionalism, the right angle and for its credo âless is moreâ, while one of the main protagonists Le Corbusier, seemingly in contrast to this, developed a colour system with numerous nuances which even today still helps many creatives in finding one perfect colour or working with space-forming polychromatism. In the lecture design contrasts will be analysed: Longevity versus trend, minimalism versus splendour, architecture versus rock and pop, black&white versus colourful variety. The 1930ies and 50ies will be opposed with the epoch of 2010 to 2030, always with special regard to purposeful identity-forming colour design in the interior.
