Design can be serious, fun, artistic, joyful, witty, ecological, socially aware, soft, hard, or just plain useful. However, function must always be a part of the equation. Eero Koivisto – architect, designer, and partner of Claesson Koivisto Rune Architects from Stockholm – will talk about the work of the studio, their roots in Nordic design. And he will talk about combining form and function, while striving to be timeless and standing apart from trends and fleeting fashions.
Claesson Koivisto Rune is a Swedish architectural partnership, founded in Stockholm, in 1995, by Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune. It started as an architectural firm, but has since become an internationally acclaimed, multi-disciplinary office with an equal emphasis on both architecture and design. They design for such international companies as Arflex, Asplund, Boffi, Capdell, Cappellini, Casamania, David design, Dune NY, Fontana Arte, Globo, Kasthall, Living Divani, Muuto, Offecct, Paola Lenti, Petite Friture, Swedese, Tacchini, Wästberg, among others. Claesson Koivisto Rune were awarded the most prestigious furniture design prize in Scandinavia – The Bruno Mathsson Prize 2015.
