To crown it all, he wants to extend his realm to the interior landscape, whether it’s with wallpaper, lighting, home accessories or even a complete prefabricated house. Now the Prince of Pompöös is launching a box spring bed collection.

Designer, scenographer and lecturer (Camondo, Beaux-Arts), Vincent Tordjman devises his work in a global fashion, considering that each facet of his professional life is permeable to the others. The play of material and immaterial components against each other are all fields of research and innovation. In addition, light is the perfect playground for the material (the floor lamp) to interact with the material (its light). No question of Vincent Tordjman designing just another floor lamp or limiting himself to an exploration of shapes, whether attractive or new.

Whether as a desk, a console or a make-up desk, Sol is truly multi-talented. Two interlocking extendable shells – one made of natural wood, the other upholstered with leather – form the basic concept. Twounique versions are available: Supported by two legs or four-legged. Meinhard von Gerkan is one of the most acclaimed German architects worldwide. Airports, stations, trade fair centres, cultural centres, stadia: von Gerkan realises iconic buildings with his team of architects at »gmp Architekten von Gerkan, Marg und Partner«, an architectural partnership that will be celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this year. The furnishing of Berlin’s Tegel Airport in 1975 marked the start of the collaboration with Walter Knoll. Since then, there have been a number of successful joint projects all over the world. In the interview Meinhard von Gerkan takls about his work and long-standing partnership with Walter Knoll.
